Le Grand Jeu has teamed up with the French artist L’Atlas in 2014 to produce a wonderful artist’s book.

“Diagonals” is composed of 14 lithographs, folded in an accordion book printed by the renowned Atelier R.L.D. in a limited edition of 50 on 240 gr. Rivoli paper, each signed and numbered by Jules Dedet Granel aka L’Atlas.

Each lithography represents a step in the elaboration of a hand-drawn sketch. L’Atlas abandons the horizontal and vertical linearity of written letters, which has been a central tenet of his reflections during last decade. The artist explores a new formal space filled with diagonals, changing perspective in his devotion to calligraphy and to urban markings.
