Stations of the Elevated
Le Grand Jeu's followers know how much we love Manfred Kirchheimer's Stations of the Elevated, one of the first film about graffiti. A few months ago, we have also organized a screening in Paris thanks to the Urban Films Festival. This fabulous documentary will be soon re-released, after having been restored, by Oscilloscope.net, which will publish also Charlie Ahearn' documentary about the photographer Jamel Shabazz. The DVD, edited only in 500 copies, will include lots of amazing contents, like a unreleased interview with Manfred Kircheimer, a video discussions with Lee Quinones and David Villorente, a new video update of stations locations in the film. There will be also an additional dvd, with other films by Kircheimer, like Colossus on the River (1965), SHort Circuit (1973) and Bridge High (1975).
Those who don't know Kircheimer should take a look to his portrait written by Eric Hynes published last year.
